Heavenly Homer Hankie... An inspiration from God
     A few months ago during a Bible study at our church, our group was discussing the joy we feel while praising and worshipping God. Someone commented how during major sports events, people stand up and cheer, some with painted faces, waving hankies, banners, etc. as they praise their favorite teams. But, if we Christians dare to raise our hands to praise our Lord God, we are sometimes criticized by some for showing too much emotion and being a little crazy. How sad! Anyway, the thought/vision came to me of an arena/church filled with Christians waving white "Heavenly Homer Hankies" as a sign of surrendering our lives to Christ as we praise and worship our Lord. I shared this with the group and we all sort of laughed it off and didn't really take it seriously.
However, on my drive home that evening, my thoughts were filled with ideas, Bible verses, and inspirations from the Lord to create this Heavenly Homer Hankie. But, as we Christians sometimes do, I didn't take this instruction from God seriously, and forgot about it. Two weeks later, the day before a Bible Study Retreat, God spoke to me during my devotions urging me to go to my computer and create HIS Heavenly Homer Hankie. I immediately obeyed and sat down at my computer. I was amazed at the thoughts and ideas that flowed through my mind. One of my God-given gifts is graphic design, and I know from experience that a project like this usually takes me hours and hours to complete. But when God prompts you to do something, He helps you. The graphics and Bible verses on the hankie, everything about this came from God! The Heavenly Homer Hankie was completed in 1/2 hour!!! Amazing!! God is so Good!!
     I brought the finished hankie along to the retreat and shared the story with everyone. They confirmed my thoughts that this is a GOD THING!
     What this experience has taught me is that when we are obedient to God's call, amazing blessings happen. I'm not sure what God has planned for HIS Heavenly Homer Hankie, but I am so excited to see how He will use these hankies. My prayer is that the message on these hankies will change lives and lead people to Christ!!
     The Lord blessed me enormously by sending me on a mission trip last January to Tapestries of Life Ministries in Fabens, Texas. They are building an orphanage in Mexico. My heart was changed and I want to help, so I feel God calling me to give some of the proceeds of the Heavenly Homer Hankies to this awesome mission organization.
