Not Just for Seniors Lunch

Elim Spring Picnic
Mark your calendars and plan to attend the annual Church Picnic on
Sunday, May 18 following the 10:30 a.m. worship service. This pig
roast picnic potluck picnic will be held on the Barton Johnson Park
and Gammelgarden Museum grounds. You provide the potluck and Elim will
provide the pork and everything else. There will be games for the
children, too. This picnic is open to the entire community, so invite
your friends and neighbors. Please bring along your lawn chairs.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Do you pray for others each day? Do you pray for people in nursing
homes, or people who are fighting one illness or another? Do you knit
or crochet? You can help others by your prayers and your knitting or
crocheting. How about making prayer shawls for people who are working
through sickness or old age? As you knit or crochet a shawl, you pray
for the unknown recipient of the shawl. This is a great time of year
to sit inside and be a blessing to someone else with your knitting and
crocheting handiwork. When you have finished one, drop it off at the
church with Sally. The pastors will gets the shawls to the people who
need encouragement and the knowledge that others care.

Member Orientation
Letters have been sent to persons who have expressed an intere3st in
membership at Elim. If you are interested in learning more and have
not been contacted, please call the church office at 433-2723.
Orientation sessions are Tuesday, May 13, from 7:15 - 8:30 p.m. and
Saturday, May 17, from 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Reception of new members will
be Sunday, June 1 during the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Please call if
you need child care during these sessions. The orientation sessions
are not limited to prospective new members, current members are always
welcome.
